Pilates

Alongside teaching Yoga and Barre, Pauline studied Mat Based Pilates towards the end of 2025 and gained a level 3 qualification from Diverse Trainers in Preston, Lancashire, UK. Tutor Kate Noble has been a key inspiration. Pauline was initially unsure if she could love any other Mind Body fitness discipline as much as Yoga, but Pilates is so complimentary to Yoga and naturally goes hand in hand; Pilates in many ways has evolved from Yoga, gymnastics, bodybuilding, Ancient Greek and Roman exercise philosophy and Martial Arts. 

Pilates Taster Class

After exploring the biography of the founder Joseph Pilates and the background to the classical 34 postures to rehab prisoners of war in WW1 and then supporting the dance community in NYC 1920’s onwards, Pauline was more and more fascinated. Daily practice, studying contemporary Pilates YouTubers and shadowing current Pilates teachers in Carlisle – Pauline soon learned and felt the benefits of the 6 Pilates Principles; Breathing, Concentration, Flow, Control, Centring and Precision. Her core strength and stability have definitely improved and she is enthusiastically sharing her discoveries in her weekly Yoga classes online and on site.
